Air
Santa Fe is located in northern New Mexico, an hour's drive north of Albuquerque, the state's largest city and major air gateway. The Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ) as the airport is officially known, is serviced by all of the major U.S. airlines. Flying into Albuquerque and renting a car is by far the most popular way of travelling around New Mexico but not the only way.

The Santa Fe Municipal Airport (SAF) is open to private aircraft.

American Eagle offers a non-stop daily flight arriving at the Santa Fe Municipal Airport at 11:45 a.m. from Dallas and returning there with a 12:10 p.m. departure from Santa Fe.

American Eagle will begin operating a service between Los Angeles and Santa Fe 19 November, 2009.

Shuttle Service
Shuttle services provide transportation of15 runs daily between downtown Santa Fe hotels and Albuquerque and 14 runs back between Albuquerque and downtown Santa Fe hotels.

Once in town, getting around is easy. Downtown Santa Fe and the surrounding historic districts are compact and most conveniently travelled on foot. For longer trips there is a local taxi service, a public transportation system, Santa Fe Trails, charter vans and limousine service. Rental cars can also be picked up in Santa Fe.

Downtown Parking
Metered parking spots in downtown Santa Fe cost $1.00 an hour and are in operation from 8 am to 6 pm Monday through Saturday, excluding major holidays. For additional information on public parking, including lot and garage locations, click here for a PDF of the city's Parking Locations.

Train Service
The New Mexico Rail Runner Express offers a commuter train service between Santa Fe and Albuquerque. Visit the New Mexico Rail Runner Express website for schedule and rate information.

Amtrak's Southwest Chief trains
These run eastbound from Los Angeles and westbound from Chicago and meet each afternoon at Lamy, New Mexico. Call the Lamy Shuttle on 505-982-8829 to arrange transportation to downtown Santa Fe (14 miles) or area hotels for possible pickup.

Bus Service

Road
Santa Fe is located on I-25.
U.S. Route 84 and U.S. Route 285 pass through the city along St. Francis Drive. NM-599 forms an expressway bypass around the northwestern part of the city.
